The Idea...

  • You are entering a contest sponsored by a local advertising agency.

  • To fulfill the requirements of the contest, you must choreograph, perform, film, and edit a dance-based TV commercial that advertises a specific product.

  • Before you get too excited about the task at hand, let's get inspired by several real TV commercials.

Today you will learn about...

  • Camera angles and its effect on the viewer.

  • Product placement within the TV ad.

Camera Angles

  • While we look at the videos, check out the camera angles and movement.

  • They create a different effect!

    • Bird's Eye View --> From above; makes someone look inferior/ small/ unimportant

 

 

  • Worm's Eye View --> From below; makes someone look superior or larger-than-life

  • Camera movement may include...

    • Zooming in or out

    • Tilting the camera

    • Moving the camera around the subject(s) or dancers
